Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna Design Using PSO
摘要
This compact and small-sized antennas are in high demand in today’s technological landscape. The increasing need for faster data speeds and the continuous development of wireless communication standards have driven the progress of multi-use systems, such as antennas and RF front-end systems. While designing reconfigurable antennas can be complex, they yield highly efficient results in a miniature form factor. The antenna proposed in this paper is optimized through the mixture of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). It is constructed on an FR4 substrate. The design resonates at three frequencies without switches. When switches are incorporated, it resonates at two additional frequencies, 3.42 and 4.32 GHz. The design process involved optimizing the antenna’s dimensions, as well as the feed coordinates in the X and Y directions. This paper focuses on the optimized reconfigurable antenna designed specifically for S and C band applications.
