The Cognitive Semiotic Profile of Iterative Readers in Pedagogy Students After the Pandemic
摘要
This article presents the results of a qualitative-quantitative case study carried out at a public university in southern Brazil with 7th semester Pedagogy Degree students. The research was developed based on the application of a questionnaire and the holding of a focus group the objective of which was to identify the cognitive semiotic profile of post-pandemic student readers. This concept involves the study of the cognitive aspects developed by subjects, through human and technological interactions, their variations, cognitive and motor skills. The author initially characterized four profiles: contemplative, moving, immersive and ubiquitous. In more recent studies, she points to the emergence of a new profile, the iterative one. Through content analysis it was possible to find the iterative profile category, which uses Generative Artificial Intelligence—GAI platforms. Nineteen students responded to the questionnaire and ten participated in the focus group. It was identified that, before the pandemic, students identified more with the contemplative profile and after, with the ubiquitous. Furthermore, all students already use GAI and cited examples of iterative use with ChatGPT. As a result, we understand that there was a change in the profile of post-pandemic students towards the ubiquitous reader and that the iterative cognitive profile is already developing, with characteristics of ubiquity.
