Modeling of Permanent Magnet Brushless Direct Current (PMBLDC) motors for automotive applications is carried out in this paper. The scope for using brushless motors in the automotive industry has increased. In this paper, analysis is done for 8 different applications namely door closure assist, electronic throttle control, circulation pump, sunroof drive, latching/clinching, seat adjuster, brake assist, and dual-clutch transmission. Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to design PMBLDC motors. Detailed analysis on specifications, torque, and optimizing magnet weight are depleted and the advantages of the machine are discussed.
