In a country like India energy plays a vital role in the field of economy. Energy demand is rapidly increasing and most of the energy is generated by non-renewable resources, which in turn deplete the resources and also pollute the environment. Energy conservation is the ultimate solution for the arising problems. The key to energy conservation is an energy audit. In this paper, a walk through energy audit is conducted in an educational institution considering 2 loads that contribute to the major energy consumption of the institution along with recommendations for better energy efficiency. Calculations are made for the return on investment for each load based on the recommendation.
