Elderly Tourists’ Acceptance of Augmented Reality for Promoting Leisure and Tourism
摘要
The significance of digitalization in leisure & tourism is pronounced, particularly during an era of aging. Augmented reality has the potential to provide numerous advantages to the leisure & tourism industry. Nevertheless, there is still a significant amount of research to be conducted to fully understand the factors that influence the acceptance of augmented reality (AR) technology among older users in the context of leisure & tourism. Furthermore, limited research has been dedicated to investigating the influence of perceived enjoyment, perceived attractiveness, and self-efficacy on the acceptance of AR technology for elderly users in leisure & tourism. To fill in this gap, the study investigated the influence of perceived enjoyment, perceived attractiveness, and self-efficacy with the technology acceptance model (TAM), which is a highly influential theoretical framework in the field. A grand number of 342 replies were gathered. The findings indicated that among older users, perceived enjoyment, perceived attractiveness, and self-efficacy had a significant effect on the attitude of using AR for leisure & tourism. The findings assist AR application designers, developers, and practitioners in the leisure & tourism industry to enhance the efficiency of AR applications. Future research would improve the TAM by integrating psychological and technological factors specifically for senior users in the domain of leisure & tourism.
