The oil and natural gas drilling industries currently face challenges associated with traditional drilling methods, leading to high tripping costs, production downtime, and elevated drilling expenses. This study addresses the pressing need for innovative, sustainable resource exploration techniques in the wake of population growth, climatic changes, resource depletion, and environmental concerns. The study focuses on the interaction between Jalore granite and 100 W laser in two experimental schemes of varying irradiation time at a single laser beam shot and varying irradiation time with the increasing number of laser beam shots in a ratio of 5:1. The influence of irradiation time and number of beam shots on the performance parameters such as mass removal, depth of penetration, and effective diameter have been discussed. Additionally, morphological observations provide insights into sub-phenomena during the spallation and melting stage, and Pearson correlation heat maps analyze the degree of association among the vital interaction parameters.

摘要
