In recent years, cancer immunotherapy has emerged as a highlight in oncology treatment. Radiotherapy, primarily aimed at local control, also exerts systemic effects on distant and unirradiated tumor deposits, known as the abscopal effect, revolutionizing treatment paradigms and being recognized as a therapy capable of stimulating systemic immune responses. This provides a compelling rationale for the integration of radiotherapy and immunotherapy. This review outlines immunotherapy strategies, mechanisms underlying radiotherapy-enhanced immune efficacy, the advantages of their combined application, and the importance of optimizing dosing frequency for maximal therapeutic benefits while ensuring patient safety.

摘要
