With the advent of the AI and Internet of Things (IoT), smart irrigation systems have gained prominence for their potential to revolutionize water management practices which can be helpful with the idea of growing plants inside a house. This research paper presents a comprehensive review of AI and IoT-based in-house smart irrigation systems which are also known as vertical farming smart irrigation systems, encompassing their architecture, components, operational principles, advantages, challenges, and real-world applications inside a house. The paper meticulously examines the underlying principles and components of these systems, underscoring their capacity to revolutionize water resource management inside a house. Key components such as sensor networks, data communication channels, data analytics frameworks, and user interfaces are dissected to provide a holistic understanding of IoT-based smart irrigation.
