Border Management Using IoT-Based Surveillance

The nation places the greatest emphasis on national security. It is now essential to constantly keep an eye on the border due to the increasing threat of intrusion. The conventional border protection system, which uses border manpower, is unable to offer 24-h surveillance. The Internet of Things (IoT) has made continuous border protection possible, allowing for the solution of this challenge. In the present work, a passive infrared (PIR) sensor is used to detect intruder motion, and Pi camera is connected to a Raspberry Pi to detect the intruder’s image and gave alert to the base station. However, a fully automated surveillance system has not yet been achieved due to safety constraints, but surely this will help to the defense forces and make the country’s borders secure.
