Distributed Consensus and \({H_2}\) -Based AGC for New Power System

Inverter-interfaced renewable energy resources are increasing in new power systems, which leads to a reduction in system inertia, and there is an urgent need to explore new automatic generation control (AGC) methods as the problem of insufficient frequency regulation (FR) capacity occurs if only relying on traditional FR resources. To improve the FR performance of a new power system equipped with heterogeneous FR resources, a distributed consensus and \({H_2}\) -based AGC method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the control structure of the proposed control method containing multiple heterogeneous FR units is designed. Then, a distributed \({H_2}\) control method is proposed to effectively release the fast FR potential of the high-speed FR units. Finally, recognizing the necessity for communication between FR units to obtain state information, a distributed consensus-based information discovery algorithm is proposed to reduce the communication burden and enhance communication robustness. ...
