In response to the current key issues of poor endurance and slow flight speed of unmanned aerial vehicle, this paper has developed a new type of power lithium battery for unmanned aerial vehicle - lithium metal oxide primary battery. The electrochemical performance test of the actual battery shows that under 1C discharge rate, the specific energy of the cell reaches 530 Wh/kg, which is 1.89 times that of the current commercial lithium-ion power battery; At a discharge rate of 5C, the specific energy of the cell reaches 433 Wh/kg, which is 1.73 times higher than the current commercial lithium-ion power battery, and its performance is far ahead. Flight data testing of unmanned aerial vehicle of the same model shows that under the same flight mode, the flight time of unmanned aerial vehicle powered by lithium metal oxide primary batteries is 1.5 times longer than that of commercial lithium-ion batteries. The battery can greatly improve the flight time and speed of unmanned aerial vehicle, making it a promising new type of power battery for unmanned aerial vehicle.
