In order to identify the core urban form indicators that affect heat island intensity, this chapter begins by constructing a comprehensive system of potential urban form indicators and detailing the calculation methods for each indicator. This system encompasses four major types of urban form indicators: land use function, land cover, building intensity, and building morphology. By analyzing the spatial heterogeneity of these indicators, it is demonstrated that their spatial variation aligns well with the overall spatial pattern of the heat island effect, thereby validating the hypothesis that these urban form indicators indeed significantly influence urban heat islands.
