Understanding Media Influence on the Adoption of AI Climate Prediction Models in Microbiological Agricultural Practices: A Study of Uttarakhand

Climate change can significantly and adversely impact the microbial aspects of agriculture. However, this impact on microorganisms can be managed to some extent through timely climate predictions and appropriate interventions. This is achievable using AI climate prediction models (with AI standing for Artificial Intelligence). Nevertheless, the benefits of AI climate prediction models for microbial agriculture can only succeed if farmers are open to adopting these practices. In India, where most of the farming relies on natural climate patterns, this study examines the role of media advertisement in influencing the adoption of AI-based climate prediction models among farmers in Uttarakhand, a state facing significant climatic challenges. By understanding how media shapes perceptions and adoption behaviors of farmers of Uttarakhand, the research aims to bridge the gap between AI innovations in microbial agricultural research and their practical application in agriculture. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 106 farmers using an offline questionnaire. The study’s result indicates that perceived behavioral control (PBC) of farmers has the leading impact on their acceptance, followed by individual’s personal attitudes toward AI climate prediction tool in microbial agriculture.
