Declining fertility rates in Qatar have raised state concerns, prompting an in-depth investigation into their causes. This chapter explores key factors contributing to this trend, including shifts in family structures, economic and financial changes, and the impact of women's employment, education, and health on fertility. Employing a mixed-methods approach through surveys and semi-structured interviews, the research builds on 4,271 Qatari nationals and 58 in-depth interviews. The finding reveals significant impact of personal values favoring individualism and a preference for quality over quantity in family size decisions. The findings confirm the influence of modern trends and evolving perceptions among younger generations, underscoring the need for state policies supporting family welfare and enhancing working conditions for women.
