In the rapidly evolving world of materials science, the integration of nanotechnology into various applications is revolutionizing industries across the board. One such groundbreaking development is the utilization of nanotechnology in enhancing the characteristics of wood adhesive and wood coating by synthesizing the functional material in nano-scale units. This innovative approach combines the natural and sustainable properties of wood with the developed performance and durability provided by nanoparticles. Their unique characteristics and properties hold great potential in improving the strength, flexibility, and resistance of wood materials. Nanoparticles typically are classified into two variations according to the materials including organic and inorganic nanoparticles. These nanoparticles can be manipulated at the molecular level to enhance specific traits, such as fire resistance, antimicrobial, UV protector, water repellency, durability, and dimensional stability. This makes nanoparticle-enhanced technology ideal for indoor and outdoor applications on wood. Incorporating these nanoparticles into wood can result in highly functional and sustainable materials that surpass traditional wood products in terms of performance and longevity.
