Introduction: Nurses play a vital role in Community Health services. Family planning is one the essential pillars of safe motherhood if nurses are well trained for appropriate selection of contraceptive methods high prevalence of unintended pregnancies can be reduced. Research Methodology: A Quantitative research was conducted to impart training to 100 undergraduate student Nurses of selected nursing colleges. To improve knowledge and attitudes regarding the use of appropriate contraceptive methods among community members and to provide accurate information about safe motherhood, student nurses were trained using two innovative teaching approaches. The experimental group engaged in blended learning, which combined interactive online methods, while the control group participated in traditional live online classroom sessions. Mean score of knowledge was compared in both teaching methods. Result: Analysis of knowledge score showed that mean knowledge was 27 and standard deviation was 3.29 among student nurses who have taken blended learning classes (experimental group) whereas student nurses in online classes (control group) had mean score 19.27 with a standard deviation of 4.59. Conclusion: This study provide an insightful overview of research highlighting the role of nurses in promoting family planning and safe motherhood if trained through modern teaching methods. Emergency contraceptive methods can be taught better using blended learning technique where persoanilsed learning space reflected comparatively high knowledge gain as well as interest of students.
