The idea of a circular economy has gained significant popularity across diverse industries in recent times, including neighborhood development, particularly due to the increasing negative impacts of climate change, excessive population growth that inclines consumption but is not accompanied by the production rate that is declining caused by changing land-use, deforestation, depletion of natural resources, urbanization, pollution, and other global issues. Jimbaran Hijau (JH) is a resort-like housing estate in Bali and certified with Greenship Platinum by Green Building Council Indonesia, affiliated with World Green Building Council. Housing is important for human beings because they spend most of their lives in these places. This chapter aims to present ways to enhance the built environment and housing industry through the implementation of circular economy principles while fostering sustainable tourism development practices. The methodology used is the literature review of the latest studies to be compared to the resort-like tourism development concept implemented in JH to demonstrate the possibilities of a circular economy in promoting the acceptance and implementation of eco-friendly approaches to neighborhood development to join hands together with the community. The findings show that the circular economy process can be applied in various green neighborhood development cycles in JH including logistics, supply chain, design, and construction processes, utilization of local resources, and maintenance and reuse of building materials. In conclusion, the circular economy potential based on a sustainable tourism approach in JH can contribute to reducing material consumption, waste, and emissions, and at the same time sustain growth and give benefits to the stakeholders as shown in the Butterfly Diagram or also known as Cradle to Cradle (C2C) as an effective instrument for comprehending the practical implementation of circular economy in JH. Therefore, the application of a circular economy in developing a neighborhood can bring great economic, social, and environmental benefits.
