DEEC and Enhanced DEEC Energy Efficient Routing Protocols in IoT—Wireless Sensor Network to Improve Network Lifetime
摘要
Internet of Things (IoT)-based WSN have many uses across many industries. One of the newest and fastest-growing applications is the IoT allowing the communication of various items via the Internet. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a crucial part of IoT developed into a number of real-time applications. The main issue with WSNs, as opposed to mobile ad-hoc networks, is restricted battery power, which has an impact on the network’s lifetime. WSN nodes are small, battery-operated devices. Therefore, methods for aggregating data that use less energy and increase throughput and network lifespan are crucial. DEEC and enhanced DEEC had been examined in this study to improve the network performance in terms of network lifetime by increasing alive nodes and reducing dead nodes which improve the network lifetime, the enhanced DEEC protocol had improved the cluster heads by gathering the data from a cluster to base station (BS). This will increase packets of data sent to the BS and thus would increase the throughput to improve the network performance. This study had been examined utilizing MATLAB simulation program.
