This study delves further into the ways that AI chatbots improve college students’ speech communication abilities. The acceptance, benefits, and drawbacks of AI chatbots in oral communication instruction were examined in this mixed-methods study by both instructors and students. While some students doubt the efficacy of chatbots, others see them as a helpful resource for feedback and language practice. Faculty perceive AI chatbots as a helpful teaching tool, despite concerns about how they may impact workload and classroom quality. The study shows that while AI chatbots are a viable teaching tool, they are also a subject of pedagogical dispute. Benefits that are emphasized include improving students’ speaking skills, giving them quick feedback, and promoting learning autonomy. But it also raises important issues, like the moral implications of using chatbots in the classroom and their inability to comprehend complicated speech. This research highlights the need for chatbot technology advancements to overcome present constraints and enhance instructional value, and it makes recommendations for future research on the application of AI in higher education.
