The purpose of this study is to develop a scale of social identity for adolescents based on Acehnese culture so that it can contribute to the study of cross-cultural psychology. The construct development phase of this research, which consists of 5 phases, involved conducting semi-structured interviews with 20 adolescents in Aceh, Indonesia. Then items were compiled based on the constructs found, and consultations were carried out with educational psychologists and teachers in Aceh. Expert judgment is conducted to obtain input and advice from experts regarding the feasibility and accuracy of items in measuring social identity constructs. Item analysis through exploratory factor analysis and reliability testing of measuring instruments. The results of the study found that four factors out of 21 were eliminated. Four factors consist of a sense of belonging, social role, pride in the group, and social comparison. All items have good communality, with values ranging from 0.518 to 0.788. This shows that each item makes a significant contribution to measuring the social identity of Acehnese adolescents. These findings can be the basis for the development of interventions aimed at increasing the understanding and acceptance of social identity among adolescents everywhere by adapting to other regional cultures in Indonesia. The conclusion is that this measurement tool can be used to test the identity of adolescents in Aceh for further follow-up to form positive adolescent behavior in accordance with the local culture.
