In recent trends, the increase in the use of mobile devices can be attributed to factors like the development of mobile devices with high storage and processing capacity, and increased availability of ubiquitous communications services. This growth of mobile device usage with several types of applications faces a bottleneck in the form of improved processing and user experience while dealing with resource-demanding applications. Therefore, offloading certain functionalities or applications to a resource-rich environment like the cloud, and accessing these services on demand, can enhance the performance of mobile apps and reduce power consumption in mobile devices, benefiting users significantly. Despite the significant increase in mobile applications operating in the cloud, real-time processing of user requests in the cloud is an area that is yet to be discovered. This scenario calls for a solution that can minimize both the response time and the power utilization. This paper presents approaches to improve the cloud server performance along with mobile device performance by implementing cloudlets and SWR (State-while-revalidate) technique. The improvement mentioned previously has been achieved using an optimized and scalable framework with the inclusion of clustering of servers over the cloud. This work focuses on a clustering approach that is capable of handling an increased number of user requests which is five times more than the solution that does not utilize a clustering approach.

摘要
