In the era of data we need our data to be available all the time for different activities. But whenever any data comes online the greatest threat become the security of that data. If the security mechanism was enhanced then you have to compromise the transparency of that data, Blockchain technology is the ultimate answer to provide the security and transparency for the data at the same time. A single person cannot have the ownership or complete control on the data stored on the block chain thus the decision making power is always decentralized. The traditional technologies were not able to provide some special features like privacy, security, peer to peer connectivity within a decentralized network. This paper gives a high-level overview of what Blockchain Technology is, followed by its applications. Moreover, the paper also aims at overcoming the hurdles faced by the traditional healthcare system and how Healthcare 4.0 can revolutionize the medical industry. By using Blockchain technology the healthcare system can be enhanced up to new heights as the health data can be available online all the time and most importantly the data can be secured easily, other importance of using Blockchain is the data available cannot be manipulated by any third party.
