The Indistinction of Security: A Brief Look at Chinese Perspectives
摘要
This chapter aims to excavate the historical and cultural underpinnings of Chinese conceptualizations of security and insecurity. It examines the evolution of key security concepts over time, establishing a cultural framework for interpreting Chinese perceptions of security. Rather than viewing security and insecurity as fixed opposites, this analysis highlights their interrelation and dynamic interplay. By situating these notions within their historical context, the chapter lays the groundwork for the subsequent exploration of the quotidian geographies of insecurity.
