E-waste Tracking System Using Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain
摘要
To prevent and reuse as much waste as possible is the main goal of waste management. E-waste recycling is a problem of worldwide relevance that necessitates not only the tracking of electronic equipment but also careful observation of the business dealings between the various parties. The technologies currently in use are IoT and cloud computing. These systems are typically centralized and have scalability problems. Additionally, they lack crucial components like data protection, accountability, openness, and traceability. This paper proposes a blockchain-based e-waste monitoring and tracing system that will be deployed on the Ethereum blockchain and make use of smart contracts to help with proper e-waste handling by documenting all parties’ actions on the immutable distributed ledger. This will guarantee the transparency, security, and traceability of every business transaction carried out through the system. The proposed solution will also utilize the cloud-based data storage services, to store assets such as product photos, e-waste materials, certificates, stakeholder's licenses, etc. Toward the conclusion of this research, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the system's gas consumption and security posture.
