Visceral leishmaniasis, which is caused by the parasite Leishmania donovani, is one of the most deadly diseases for humans and records serious infections all over the world. It needs two hosts to complete its life cycle: an invertebrate host represented by a female sandfly and an invertebrate host represented by humans or mammals. Chemotherapy treatments for leishmaniasis have side effects and a long course of treatment. Therefore, most studies tended to use medicinal plants as an alternative because of their therapeutic properties or for fear of deterioration of some pathological conditions. It has been widely used to treat many diseases such as leishmaniasis, malaria, or diseases of the immune system, and has proven to be highly effective because of the biologically effective compounds it contains. The aim of the study is to know the inhibitory effects of the L. donovani parasite by using the MTT test and the volatile oil concentrations of each of Lavandula angustifolia and Cupressus sempervirens and the synergistic effect of L. angustifolia oil C. sempervirens, at concentrations of 1000, 500, 250, 125, 31.25, and 62.5. The results showed a clear difference for each drug spectrum treated during the experiment, and the two highest concentrations of lavender were given, which were 1000 and 500.
