Regression analyses underscore the pivotal roles of urbanization and technological innovation in driving carbon emissions dynamics, with region-specific variations elucidated. Furthermore, the study unveils divergent emission trends across China’s economic regions, advocating for tailored emission reduction strategies grounded in regional economic realities. The findings underscore the imperative of nuanced policy interventions to mitigate carbon emissions and promote sustainable development pathways in China’s diverse regional contexts.
