The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of platform economy on employment and worker welfare. The results show that platform economy significantly reduces the unemployment rate, especially in non-state-owned enterprises, and increases the income level of workers by providing flexible employment opportunities. However, the impact of platform economy on different income groups is not linear, high-income groups benefit more from it, while low-income groups have relatively limited income growth. In addition, the platform economy does not significantly improve the wages of soes, which may be related to the relatively slow response of soes in market competition. This study highlights that in the context of the rapid development of platform economy, policy makers should pay attention to its potential impact on social inequality, and ensure that the development of platform economy can benefit all workers more inclusive and equitably through measures such as digital skills training and social security. The results provide an empirical basis for understanding the complex impact mechanism of platform economy, and also provide theoretical support for the formulation of relevant policies.
