Disability Policy in Qatar
摘要
Disability policies in Qatar have drastically developed over the past few years. Support for people with disabilities increased through establishing integration policies, ensuring their human rights, and developing sectors to be more inclusive of their needs and experiences. Qatar’s efforts to support this group started in the early 1990s and further developed to pass laws that protect, support, and ensure their integration. The legal framework led to the establishment of public policies for people with disabilities in various sectors. The legal landscape resulted in several government authorities responding to the development of disability policy in Qatar. The country participates in many international and regional efforts to support people with disabilities. This chapter explores Disability Public Policy in Qatar. It examines the key actors that influenced the area locally and internationally and reviews the multiple development areas of today’s Disability Public Policy landscape in Qatar.
