Southeast Asia in recent years is facing the declining trend of democracy in the region. This phenomenon covers a wide range of development in the region, starting from the increasingly authoritarian Cambodia, Thailand that continues to be under the grip of military rules, to the current military coup in Myanmar in February 2021.
