Exchange in Simple Societies: From the Perspective of Cultural Anthropology
摘要
Exchange is one of the fundamental aspects of human social life. In a simple society, exchange is the most basic method of establishing a connection between individuals and groups. As the French anthropologist Marcel Mauss, the founder of the theory of gift exchange, pointed out, the great significance of gift exchange is that it connects people, and this exchange can extend from economic systems to political, religious, and social spheres. In a simple society, exchange is endowed with different cultural implications and is one of the important factors in the continuation of a simple society.
