Fei Xiaotong’s Third Paper: Globalization and Local Society
摘要
Around September 20, 1991, approximately a week after I commenced my doctoral studies at Peking University under the guidance of Fei Xiaotong, he invited Qiu Zeqi (邱泽奇) and me to join him on a research expedition to the Wuling Mountains, situated at the intersection of Hunan, Hubei, and Sichuan provinces. Shortly after boarding the train, Fei told us that he would give us the first lecture that day. For over an hour, he delved into the fundamental concepts of his two research papers regarding the analysis of Chinese society (addressing ethnic minorities and Han Chinese) and outlined his intentions and plans for the Wuling Mountains expedition.
