Validating the Performance of Enhanced LEACH Protocol for Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Networks
摘要
Wireless sensor networks are becoming the most interesting topic as they have a variety of applications. Because of current developments in this field, more researchers are dwelling on making it more and more efficient and enhancing its overall performance. Some parameters that are considered for obtaining the efficacy of wireless networks are dead and alive nodes, remaining average energy of sensor nodes, and packets delivered within a network can be regarded as for optimizing their performance. Existing hierarchical protocols emphasize the energy efficiency of these networks by considering the selection of cluster heads, data transmission, etc. In this article, enhanced LEACH is considered for optimizing the overall performance of the wireless sensor network which considers the shortcomings of traditional LEACH protocol. An analysis is based on the above-mentioned network parameters. Simulation is carried out in MATLAB 2023b. From the simulation, it is clear that proposed protocol is more efficient as well as helps in prolonging the network lifespan.
