Integrating Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things for Environmental Monitoring in Seaports: A Dynamic Model for Reducing CO2 Emissions
摘要
Maritime ports, as vital nodes in global trade, face significant challenges in managing their environmental impact. Traditional monitoring approaches are often limited by high costs, slow response times, and insufficient predictive capabilities. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), known as AIoT, offers a transformative solution by enabling continuous real-time data collection and advanced analytics, leading to more efficient, accurate, and proactive environmental management. This study explores the application of AIoT combined with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies. It evaluates the current state of these integrations, identifies existing gaps, and provides recommendations for future digital solutions. The proposed recommendations focus on creating a dynamic model supported by these technologies to quantify and monitor carbon emissions in seaports in real time, in order to assist in operations, establish reference benchmarks, set reduction targets, and develop a roadmap for decarbonizing port activities.
