Life distributions are probability distributions of non-negative random variables with the positive half of the real line (or a part thereof) or the set of natural numbers (or a subset thereof) as the support. Various features of a probability distribution including distinctive features possessed by a single distribution or a particular group/class have been captured by several summary functions of the parameters involved like moments and quantiles, besides some properties of the density (mass) or the distribution functions and the tails of the corresponding curves. It may be incidentally pointed out that life distributions are generally asymmetric.
