This chapter explores the transformative potential of immersive technologies, one is virtual reality, and we also count on augmented as well as mixed realities which offer new ways to enhance user experiences and interactions in various fields in enhancing existing methods of monitoring and remote management in the healthcare sector. Health systems around the world are on the move toward better patient outcomes and operational efficiency. These technologies present new frontiers in the delivery of health services to patients, especially those located in far areas. The first chapter includes the scope, capabilities, and integration of VR, AR, and MR on the platform of health care. It provides a comprehensive overview of current applications, such as remote monitoring systems that use AR for live data overlays and VR environments that enable immersive therapy and rehabilitation sessions. Such applications have mostly realized the benefit of an increase in patient engagement, improvement in diagnostic accuracy, and enhanced training of professionals within the health fraternity. The chapter then looks at case studies where these technologies have been applied successfully. VR platforms to treat chronic pain, AR applications used to provide surgical preparation and guidance, and MR systems that can even allow a physician to undertake interactive medical imaging and diagnostics. The discourse has also extended to the technical and ethical considerations of employing these technologies, such as data security, privacy concerns, and the need for robust infrastructure.
