The innovative design activities of materials based on natural biomass materials are flourishing. However, there are still unresolved issues, such as high prices, difficulty in mass production, and limited application areas of raw biomass materials. At the same time, existing research mainly focuses on the engineering performance of materials, lacking studies on material experience. This paper takes orange peel material as the research object and aims to explore the reuse method of orange peel material by producing orange peel biofilm. Firstly, we utilized materials such as sodium alginate and gelatin to produce orange peel biofilm and analyzed the differences in film formation under different material additive ratios. Subsequently, we used the orange peel film as an experimental sample for material experience experiments. We applied the semantic differential scale in the sensory research method in the experiment to analyze the relationship between material composition and experience. We collected the orange peel film sample scores in the scale and conducted factor analysis using SPSS software. The analysis revealed that the fusion of orange peel with fabric materials effectively enhances the experience regarding form and texture. When we process orange peel without adding other materials and the film’s smooth and uniform surface, it can improve people’s experience of the material’s surface texture. Finally, based on the research achievements of orange peel film materials, this study designs a series of orange peel film products.
