Study on the Evaluation System of the Influence of Strong Artificial Border Water on Oil Field Production Area

In order to tap into the remaining oil of Oilfield A affected by strong artificial edge water, a theoretical study on the impact of strong artificial edge water on the production area of the oilfield was conducted. The virtual tracer concentration, recovery degree, and displacing water multiple were used as evaluation indicators. By using membership functions, the three parameters were normalized to establish an evaluation system for the impact of strong artificial edge water on the production area. Based on this evaluation system, in combination with reservoir characteristics and production dynamics, the distribution characteristics of remaining oil in areas of Oilfield A with different degrees of influence from artificial edge water were clarified. The results showed that the remaining oil in the strongly affected areas by artificial edge water was mainly controlled by interlayers, while the remaining oil in the weakly affected areas was mainly controlled by the well pattern. This study is of significant guiding importance for evaluating the impact of strong artificial edge water on the production area and tapping into remaining oil potential.
