Application of the Logging Evaluation Method for Barriers and Interlayers in the Development of the Super Heavy Reservoirs in Block K in Liaohe Oilfield

In blocks with extra-super heavy oil in Liaohe oilfield, barriers and interlayers affect the steam injection recovery result and severely limit the oil recovery efficiency Pengbo in Tech Res (1):43–44 2015 [1]. To deal with this problem, a refined reservoir parameter calculation method has been established by systematically analyzing the factors affecting the accuracy of reservoir evaluation, combined with site monitoring, core analysis, oil testing and test production data. The charts and standards for qualitative and quantitative identification of barriers and interlayers have been obtained, and the modules for automatic identification and statistical analysis of barriers and interlayers have been developed using this method combined with core observation and logging response characteristics. With the charts, standards and modules, the systematic analysis of the thickness and distribution law of the barriers and interlayers has been realized Gaoyang in Distribution characteristics of interlayers of Bentiu formation in Sudan B oilfield and its impact on development effect, pp 1–82 (2017) [2]. This technology has been successfully used to guide the deployment of 7 horizontal well groups in Sha-3 Member in the north of block K in Liaohe Oilfield. The research shows that the understanding and characterization of the types of barriers and interlayers, the establishment of their evaluation standards and the analysis of their distribution characteristics can provide a strong basis for the deployment of development wells in super heavy oil fields.
