Wellness and health tourism were once thought to be an ancient form of travel. India emerged as a prime destination for wellness tourism in terms of yoga, spa, Ayurveda, spiritual, and medicinal activities. Promoting Ananda in Himalayas in terms of wellness and health provides India a competitive advantage over other Asian countries. The aim of this study is to examine the potentials of Ananda as a destination for wellness tourism. This study employed a descriptive case study of the Ananda-in the Himalayas, focusing on the potential of this place for wellness tourism. According to the findings of this study, the destination and its wellness retreat programs make it at the top place in terms of wellness tourism. This study attempts to examine the potential of Ananda destination for wellness tourism. Earlier studies conducted on Ananda have not been studied from this perspective though some authors studied on Kerala and Thailand as top destinations in terms of wellness tourism therefore, not much literature available. This study can be used by further researchers to study on more varied services provided at Ananda as a holistic place. This case study is more descriptive, and results can help researchers to further study Ananda not in terms of luxury resort or spa but from the perspective of varied wellness retreat programs. This study may also help researchers to understand the potential of this destination in terms of wellness tourism.
