Epiretinal Membrane After Diabetic Vitrectomy

  • Chung-May Yang

摘要

Epiretinal membrane (ERM) is a common complication after diabetic vitrectomy (Messmer et al., Klin Monbl Augenheilkd 200(4):267–272, 1992; Yang et al., Acta Ophthalmol 88(2):193–198, 2010). One of our studies analyzing post-DV complications showed that more than 60% of the various complications were related to ERM (Yang et al., Acta Ophthalmol 88(2):193–198, 2010). It may cause macular thickening, macular folds, a vertically sloped foveal pit, lamellar macular hole (LMH), macular hole (MH), cystic degeneration, subretinal fluid, etc. (Yang et al., Acta Ophthalmol 88(2):193–198, 2010). The clinical features, prevention, and management will be discussed in this chapter.
