Identification of Key Selection Criteria for Exoskeleton Applications in Automotive Production Through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method

Exoskeleton devices can augment human capabilities in daily activities through mechanically align with the human body, especially in the application of healthcare, industry and military. Exoskeleton technology currently remains uncommon among industry practitioners in Malaysia. This study focuses on addressing the gap by exploring the crucial criterial for exoskeleton implementation in automotive production through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with experts from industry. Total there are 12 criteria was selected and after the evaluation by 10 experts from automotive industry through AHP method, the highest concern by industry was ease of maintenance and after sales support and the least is weight and size of exoskeleton. By highlighting key selection criteria, this research aims to enhance the suitability of exoskeleton characteristics in specific production tasks, moving beyond from the current focus on design different type of exoskeleton and develop a model for industry to select the suitable exoskeleton in the production tasks to increase the usage in the line.
