The Red Sea basin is located between the northeast Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, with excellent petroleum geological conditions and great potential for oil and gas exploration. In order to study the gravity anomalies and structural features in the northern section of the Red Sea basin, the data of Bouguer gravity anomalies in the study area were collected and collated. The moving average method was used to process the Bouguer gravity anomalies, and then the residual gravity anomalies were obtained in the northern section of the Red Sea basin. Based on the existing geological data, the features of the Bouguer gravity anomalies and the residual gravity anomalies were analyzed, and the distribution characteristics of the fault structures in the northern section of the Red Sea basin were determined. The results showed that the Bouguer gravity anomalies have obvious zoning characteristics in the northern section of the Red Sea basin, and generally displayed the features with high in the central and low in the peripheral margins. These faults play an important role in controlling the structure and properties of the basement, the uplift and depression framework, and the distribution of the Mesozoic strata and Cenozoic strata.
