Ultra-deep oil and gas exploration has made a major breakthrough in the Shawan Sag in the hinterland of the Junggar Basin. Condensate reservoirs were found in the Upper Wuerhe Formation (P3w) of Well Zheng 10 on the eastern slope of the Sag. In order to clarify the source of Permian crude oil in the reservoir, biomarker compounds and monomer carbon isotope analysis and research were carried out on the Permian and Jurassic crude oil samples found in the Sag, and crude oil classification and oil source correlation studies were carried out. The crude oil of different strata in the eastern part of Shawan Sag can be divided into two categories. The first type of crude oil occurs in the Permian reservoir. The δ13C value of the whole oil is −30.13 ‰ to −29.53 ‰, and the carbon isotope value of the monomer hydrocarbon is slightly heavier. The nC12 is −28 ‰ to −30 ‰, the Pr/Ph ratio is 1.03 ~ 1.04, the content of β-carotane is medium to low, the regular steranes C27, C28 and C29 are on the rise or peak type distribution, and the relative content of C20 tt, C21 tt and C23 tt tricyclic terpane is peak type distribution, and the methylphenanthrene parameter reflects that the crude oil is in the stage of high maturity evolution. The second type of crude oil occurs in the Jurassic reservoir. The Pr/Ph ratio distribution range is 1.61 ~ 1.78, and it is rich in β-carotane and γ-carotane. The gammacerane index is between 0.22 and 0.31. The relative content of C20 tt, C21 tt and C23 tt tricyclic terpane is distributed in the peak type, and the regular steranes of C27, C28 and C29 are distributed in the ‘V’ or ‘L’ type. The carbon isotope value of monomer hydrocarbon is small molecular weight, and nC12 is between −27 ‰ and −28 ‰. It is considered that the main body of P3w condensate oil in Well Zheng 10 of Permian is mainly supplied by P2w source rock, but it is mixed with some oil and gas in the high maturity stage of Fengcheng Formation. Jurassic crude oil mainly comes from the supply of source rock in the low maturity stage of P1f, as well as the supply of source rock in Lower Wuerhe Formation and Jurassic source rock.
