Electrical Energy Conversion System (EECS)-based Renewable energy has known a rapid development in the world, because it’s the best solution for producing electricity in a clean way; reducing the pollution presented by the massive use of traditional fossil resources and nuclear energy. Among these EECS, wind energy conversion system (WECS) is one of the cleanest and efficient sources; it’s a good solution to produce electrical energy without dangerous emissions that leads to a developed use of this energy in the electrical networks. This chapter begins by a presentation of the Historic development of total installations wind turbine in the world. Then, a literature review was given of the different control methods and topologies of WECS. Finally, the chapter provides a concise comparative study of wind turbine control strategies.
