This chapter first reviews the overall changes and features of China’s population ageing from 2000–2020; then analyzes the key aspects of population ageing according to ageing-related legal and policy documents, academic literature, and relevant media reports; summarizes the development process, achievements, and challenges; and lastly, analyzes future development trend of population ageing in China, especially the development direction of China’s aged society in two to three decades with the aim to implement the national strategy to actively respond to population ageing.

摘要
