This chapter presents the latest development of innovative digital infrastructures of smart classrooms and 5G smart campuses in Chinese higher education institutions in cooperation with commercial partners. “5G Smart University” has become a label of universities that carry out 5G smart campus projects. This study conceptualizes a hybrid governance framework of digital transformation and innovation of a hybrid university based on multiple case studies.
