Offshore helicopters serve as crucial transportation links between offshore platforms and the mainland. Ensuring the safe takeoff and landing of helicopters on offshore platforms is an essential consideration during the design phase. During the process of helicopter takeoff and landing above the platform, two main factors are influential: the high-temperature exhaust gases emitted by power generation equipment on the platform, and the turbulent flow around the helicopter deck. This study focuses on analyzing the impact of wind direction and velocity changes on the dispersion of exhaust gases, particularly the potential risks to helicopter when the gases spread over the helicopter deck. The research concentrates on three wind directions: west, southwest and northwest, which have the most significant effect on the dispersion of exhaust gases from offshore platforms. The study finds that the wind is from the west with a velocity a velocity that surpasses 3 m/s and from the northwest and southwest with a velocity that surpasses 1 m/s, helicopter takeoff and landing are affected by the exhaust gases.

Offshore helicopters serve as crucial transportation links between offshore platforms and the mainland. Ensuring the safe takeoff and landing of helicopters on offshore platforms is an essential consideration during the design phase.
