The purpose of this research is to analyze the urban tourism development in Sumedang Regency in a comprehensive and accurate manner. This research will be using a qualitative research method. The result of this research is a strategy in tourism product development of Sumedang City as a sustainable urban tourism city. In this research the urban tourism development in Sumedang as a center for Sundanese culture has the strength of historical elements and a variety of cultural uniqueness that needs to be continuously developed. Sumedang has three challenges to developing tourism in Sumedang Regency, namely, attractions or performances that had not been packaged properly, accessibility to tourist objects, and amenities as supporting facilities while in tourist spots. The accessibility to Sumedang, which is located on the border between the Greater Cirebon Metropolitan and the Greater Bandung Metropolitan areas, positions Sumedang as a highly strategic region for the development of tourist destinations and cultural centers. The existence of this destination will be further assisted by the presence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, where the accessibility to Sumedang area includes those at Simpang, Citimun, Paseh, and Ujung Jati. Therefore, the tourism product development in Sumedang will be highlighted in this research for further discussion.

摘要
