Smart Tourism Destination: The Stakeholders’ Role
摘要
Smart tourism destinations are a growing trend in the global tourism industry, utilizing information and communication technology to improve tourist experiences, environmental sustainability, and competitive advantage. However, stakeholders must be involved in the development process to achieve maximum success. This chapter discusses the development and management of smart tourism destinations from a stakeholder perspective, focusing on factors such as stakeholder readiness, stakeholder synergy, and tourism digitization conditions. Longitudinal studies were conducted in three provinces, namely, Tanjung Lesung, Banten Province (2017), Dieng Area, Central Java Province (2018), and Banyuwangi, East Java Province (2019), using a mixed-methods approach, examining digital marketing initiatives in developing countries. Some obstacles include human resource ability, stakeholder synergy, and government support. The study identified six factors, public system development, digital promotion, internet infrastructure, public and private sector partnerships, and human resources development, to support smart tourism. Digital map systems are primarily used for finding tourist attractions and routes, but many visitors lack smart shopping guides and online payments, requiring reservations through applications or websites.
