Based on an analysis of the religious narratives of the Yārsān, an ethno-religious minority group in Iran, this article investigates the religious concepts present in Yārsān’s daily life and their impact on maintaining a sense of identity for the community. This study primarily focuses on the narrative of “Gelim-e-Kul” from Yārsān religious texts, with the aim of analyzing the Yārsān worldviews embedded within the various layers of this story. To that end, the essay introduces the Gorāni oral tradition repertoire and its significance as the oldest written literature in the Kurdish region. Then, the interwoven relationship between the Yārsān belief system and the Gorāni oral tradition, along with the complex regenerative journeys of these beliefs from folktales to everyday experiences, will be explored.
